Your tattoo is healing skin. The instructions given at your appointment are tailored to your dressing and tattoo, so always follow those first.
Care for a new tattoo
Your tattoo was applied using sterile equipment and procedures, with non-toxic colours. Healing and caring for your tattoo, however, remains your responsibility.
The instructions given at your appointment take priority if they differ from this general guide.
Wash the tattoo with warm, soapy water using clean hands, then pat it dry with a clean towel. Do not scrub the area.
If a 2nd Skin is applied, leave it on for 24 to 48 hours. Remove it with warm, soapy water. Contact me if you are unsure about your dressing.
Apply a light layer of BeeMyBalm to keep the area moisturised. Avoid hand creams for at least the first 10 days.
If 2nd Skin is not needed, use BeeMyBalm to support healing. Too much product or water can leave the surface overly wet.
Itching and scabbing are a normal part of healing. Keep applying BeeMyBalm as needed, but do not scratch, pick or peel the tattoo.
Keep the tattoo dry but moisturised while it heals. Be mindful of clothing; BeeMyBalm contains coconut and vitamin E oils.

When something feels wrong
Contact me if you are unsure about the healing process. Seek prompt medical advice if redness is spreading, pain or swelling is worsening, the area feels increasingly hot, there is pus, or you develop a fever or feel unwell.
