What we collect

Depending on how you contact us, we may collect:

• Name and surname
• Email address and mobile or WhatsApp number
• Tattoo idea, placement, size, style preference and reference images
• Preferred dates and availability
• For Tipsy Ink: guest count, occasion, preferred dates, notes and booking details
• Technical information needed to run the site securely, such as IP address and Cloudflare Turnstile responses used to reduce spam

We only ask for what we need to reply or manage a booking.

Why we use your information

We use your information to:

• Reply to tattoo and Tipsy Ink enquiries
• Confirm dates, venues, pricing and payment details
• Manage bookings and rescheduling
• Keep a record of what you asked for so we can help you properly
• Protect the site against spam and abuse
• Improve our website and services over time

We process this information because you asked us to through an enquiry or booking, and because we need it to run the business under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

WhatsApp and email

If you message us on WhatsApp or email, that conversation happens on those platforms. Once you contact us there, Meta (WhatsApp) or your email provider also process the message under their own terms. We use those channels to reply to you about your enquiry or booking.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share limited information with trusted service providers who help us operate, only as needed. Examples include website hosting (Vercel), security and spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile), and email or messaging tools we use to reply.

If a Tipsy Ink night is at a partner venue, we may share first name and guest-count details needed for the event. We will not share more than is reasonably required.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and booking information for as long as needed to complete your request, run the booking, and handle reasonable follow-up or records. When we no longer need it, we delete it or anonymise it where practical.

Your rights

You may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, correct information that is wrong or incomplete, delete information where we no longer need it or where the law allows, or object to certain uses of your information.

Security

We take reasonable steps to look after information sent through our website. No online system is perfectly secure. Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive medical detail unless we specifically ask for it for a permanent tattoo appointment.

Children

Tipsy Ink is 18+ because of the drinks context. Our services are not aimed at children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it where appropriate.

Cookies and similar technology

We use technology that is needed for the site to work, including Cloudflare Turnstile to help stop spam on forms. We do not currently run marketing analytics or advertising pixels on this site. If that changes, we will update this policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
